Program and Project Specialist
Full-TimePosition Summary
The Program and Project Specialist reports directly to the Deputy Director of Love, Unity & Values (LUV) Institute. They should bring exceptional program and project management expertise to lead and contribute to exciting community-based campaigns to advance the organization’s purpose-driven mission. The Program and Project Specialist helps to organize and oversee program and project activities of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee specific programs and project work plans to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with priorities, time, funding limitations, or other specifications.
- Manage the CNA Program.
- Serve in the capacity of a Coach in the Workforce Development Program.
- Help develop and facilitate workshops, trainings, meetings, retreats, and/or conferences.
- Assist with creating and facilitating program marketing plans.
- Manage relationships with community partners, participants, and others to facilitate program and project objectives.
- Create program and project flyers for physical and digital dissemination.
- Assist with the recruitment and retention of program participants and volunteers.
- Represent the organization at community events.
- Collaborate in the evaluation of program and project effectiveness to develop and implement improved methods.
- Assist with planning culminating program events.
- Create sign-in sheets for program participants.
- Update and track program participants’ hours and attendance.
- Score and record assessment results in respective spreadsheets.
- Distribute and collect W-9s.
- Review and approve program participants’ timesheets.
- Create and maintain payroll spreadsheets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree (a master’s is preferred) and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in program management and facilitation, curriculum construction, data collection, and analysis, OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
- Technological proficiencies: Adobe, Canva, G Suite, and Office 365.
- Ability to navigate and create posts on social media platforms.
- Have the required background clearance.
- Must have a car.
Key Competencies
Workforce Development Coach
Full-TimePosition Summary
The Workforce Coach provides support for individuals to assist them in pursuing goals related to the Journey to My Better Self Career Academy Program. This position may work independently but maintains close contact with the course leaders. The job is based on the individual needs of the participants.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote and implement support in accordance with the Journey to My Better Self Career Academy’s mission and each client’s personal and career outcomes.
- Participate as a team member in the development and implementation of the client’s career development plan.
- Maintain current and accurate progress notes for each client.
- Provide weekly client updates to the JTMBSCA program administrators.
- Provide monthly updates to the client’s caseworker/guardian.
- Conduct internship site visits.
- Assist the Program Specialist with job placements.
- Communicate with the client to encourage positive social behaviors.
- Promote the self-sufficiency and independence of the client, specific to their abilities.
- Apply effective problem-solving skills as appropriate.
- Handle emergency situations by communicating with appropriate personnel while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
- Have sufficient ability to use computers and software to satisfactorily complete tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- An associate’s degree, or higher, in a Human Services field (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Counseling, etc.), OR relevant training or qualifications.
- Have required background clearances.
- A minimum of two years’ experience coaching 16 to 20-year-olds.
- Previous experience implementing life skills training and working with this age group in one-on-one or group settings.
- Must have a car.
