We are the hearts that grew from community conversations
As our communities continue an ongoing battle of healing, for 10 years the LUV Institute has made it our mission to build healthy relationships and foster artistic creativity that will empower our youth and future leaders of tomorrow for generations.
On September 10, 2022, we took our Walk/Bike Tour through Chicago starting and endng at Mandrake Park.

LUV Institute Selects Artists for Parade of Hearts Initiative
Parade of Hearts Artists: The Love, Unity & Values (LUV) Institute’s Parade of Hearts announces 11 artists creating large-scale, heart-shaped public sculptures in 12 South Side neighborhoods.
Each artist participated in a Peace Circle with community members to reflect upon the community’s experience of the COVID-19 pandemic and social justice tensions. The artists are tasked with capturing each community’s vision of a new normal and the path towards collective healing on a heart-shaped sculpture that will be placed in each community.
The cohort of local artists is led by longtime LUV collaborator Damon Lamar Reed. The creator of more than 170 murals in Chicago, Reed has worked with the LUV Institute to create several large scale art installations with students in Chicago Public Schools.
